Maintenance & support/Look after
After it is built, someone keeps watching.
Launch is not the end. Updates, backups and someone to call when it breaks — the same person, every month.
Five sites currently on ongoing monthly maintenance.
It has been live a while.
Has anyone looked at it since?
“Built, then left alone” is the frightening one.

We stopped updating it, and now I worry about security holes.
One day I looked and the site had gone completely blank.
The person who handled it left, and nobody else can touch it.
We had never once taken a backup.
The contact form was broken for six months before anyone noticed.
The contract says “maintenance”, but I have no idea what is being looked at.
The SSL certificate expired and visitors started getting warnings.
We pay monthly and have never received a single report.
To all of it, our answer is always the same one.
Made visible, and handed to you monthly.

Updates, backups, monitoring and reporting — the same person every month. Everything done goes onto paper and comes to you.

We write out everything the monthly fee covers.
Maintenance in Japan runs anywhere from ¥5,000 to ¥100,000 a month. The difference in price is a difference in contents. So we start with the contents.
Average monthly fee. From published information on 12 firms (source ①, as of June 2026)
What that monthly fee actually includes varies enormously between providers.
Tax included, paid monthly
- WordPress and plugin updates
- Regular backups of your content
- Error handling and recovery if the worst happens
- Page updates (light edits such as text changes)
- A monthly review of how the site is running

- Search Console report (monthly)
- Detailed GA4 analytics
All ten of the above are included in that figure.

This is what lands every month.
We think the surest way to kill “I have no idea what I am paying for” is to let you see it, in full, every month.

Every piece of work, one by one.
When, which plugin, and from which version to which. Everything done that month, with nothing left out.
This page is included in every plan.
Plugin names and the version changes are written out in full.
And every month it ends with a note in plain words. In a month where the numbers fell, it says they fell.
Note: these are reports we genuinely send, altered so the client cannot be identified. Trading names, search terms and page names are masked. The figures and the work carried out are exactly as they were.
What we did on the day something went wrong.
The monthly work looks much the same wherever you go. The difference shows up on the day something happens.

What we do routinely
- A full backup every month (to our own server, kept for six months)
- A retrieval method that never writes to the live site
- Three layers of protection against author-information leakage
Plans.
The three plans are equal choices. Pick how much cover your site needs, and whether to pay monthly, six months up front, or twelve.

Frequently asked questions.
Can I change plan later?
Yes. You can move up or down at any time as the site and the season change. Just tell us what you need.
Can you maintain a site you did not build?
Yes. We are happy to take on maintenance for a site built elsewhere. Let us have a look at how it is put together first.
Are emergencies covered?
If the site goes down or is tampered with, that gets priority. How far the cover extends depends on the plan, so please ask about your situation.
Does the first-year price continue after that?
No — it applies only to the first year of a twelve-month up-front contract. From the second year it continues at the standard twelve-month price.
Can I cancel at any time?
Yes. On the monthly plan there is no minimum term; you decide month by month. The six- and twelve-month up-front plans run to the end of their term.

Start by telling us the state your site is in.
It is fine if you do not know what state it is in. We will take a look and propose only the cover you actually need. The conversation is free.
